Work in Progress There You Were written by Tamara Williams

There You Were is a poem written by Tamara Williams, a poet, actress, and friend. Tamara wrote this poem about five or six years ago while living in Atlanta, GA.
A couple of years ago, I went to a poetry reading at the Merchantile Library in downtown Cincinnati. While Tamara was reciting the poem, the words painted themselves on my mind's eye.

There You Were is of a woman walking into an art gallery with the intent of looking at the displayed art. When she walks in, her eyes land on a gentleman who takes her breath away. While she is walking through the gallery she lists the inventory of what is attractive of the man and is gathering her courage to say hello.

To me, the poem is about gathering the courage to take a chance to just say "hello".

In the Spring of 2007, I called in some favors and in one night, all night, my crazy crew shot the poem into a short. The short is currently in post. It is expected to be finished soon.
