Spunky Jump Productions is committed to creating films that are original, artistic and from the heart. We often employ the B's of self-financing Beg, Borrow, Barter and the occational Bake Sale.

I’m constantly asked where I came up with the name Spunky Jump Productions. The name came to me after listening to a story a friend of mine told me about an experience he had while hiking in the canyons out west.

Long story short, my friend found himself in a dire situation where he was scaling out of the canyon when a hard rain began to fall. He was 30 feet up off the ground, the next ledge was out of his reach, and a foot slipped. Now he is hanging on by one hand and one foot. All of his options were pretty much gone, except one. Instinct took over and he simply jumped up. By doing so, he found the next ledge and was able to pull himself up and climb out of the canyon.

The story inspired me to follow thru on my commitment to start my production company, which I have dreamed of doing so for a long time. I figured, if I’m going to make the JUMP, I might as well do it with a SPUNKY attitude.

I have also created Art House Essentials, which once a month I promote local filmmakers via my website Art House Essentials and they have an opportunity to screen their work with a post-show talk back at UC MainStreet Cinema.
